Our Story

Stikine Packrafts is a family-run Canadian business built on honesty, practical outdoor experience, and a genuine love for time on the water.

Our love of packrafting grew out of years spent backpacking and camping in northern British Columbia. For many summers, we packed heavy, cumbersome rafts into the backcountry for multi-day trips. It worked, but it often meant extra weight, extra kilometres, and more complicated logistics just to get ourselves, our gear, and a boat to the water.

When we discovered packrafts, everything changed. They were light, portable, versatile, and opened up new ways to explore lakes, rivers, and remote waterways that had once felt out of reach. We immediately saw how useful they could be for Canadian adventurers, families, anglers, campers, and anyone looking for a more accessible way to paddle.

We started Stikine Packrafts because we wanted to help grow packrafting in Canada and provide a thoughtful, trustworthy option for Canadian paddlers. Our rafts are designed and carefully selected in Canada with Canadian waterways, backcountry travel, and everyday adventure in mind.

We care about doing things responsibly. That means being transparent about our products, offering fair pricing, standing behind the gear we sell, and helping customers choose the right raft for how they actually plan to use it. We are careful about what we put our name on, and we want every customer to feel supported before and after they get on the water.

We want to acknowledge that the Stikine Region, in northwestern British Columbia, is the traditional territory of several First Nations - Taku River Tlingit, Kaska Dene, Tahltan, Gitxsan and Takla Lake - which all have communities in the region. This is a breathtaking area where our family has visited and explored over the years.
