Frequently-Asked Questions

Our packrafts are designed to stand up to the elements and keep you safe, dry and comfortable on your paddling adventure. Our packrafts are durable, easy to deflate and store and don't require too much maintenance or care when they're not on the water.

Using your packraft

Your packraft can be used in a lot of different types of water, depending on the model of boat. From the paddling through the canals of Venice to the bikerafting though the trails and waterways of Northern BC, these boats can step up when you need them to.

After receiving your raft, you may have some questions about basic set-up instructions. Check out our video here:  COMING SOON

Before long-term storage, we recommend that you rinse your raft with fresh water and remove any sand, leaves and other debris out of the floor area and by the zipper where it tends to collect.

Air-dry the raft, making sure it’s totally dry and there is no water in the bottom of the boat before storage. The folds of the raft can hold water, so be sure to dry it thouroughly before tucking it away. Fold the raft loosely so air can circulate around it while it is stored.

If desired, wipe down your raft with a towel and be sure to focus on the seams of the boat, the TIZIP zipper, and spray skirt (if applicable). The nylon resists moisture build-up from condensation better when it’s exposed to the surrounding air.

Ideally, keep the boat in a cool, dry place. If considering outside storage in a garage or shed, we recommend storing your raft loosely inside a sealed container to avoid any wear and tear and so there's no damage from mice or other critters.

Yes! You can! Our rafts have been used in many fresh and salt water, from crossing ocean inlets and playing in surf waves or exploring the canal in your hometown.

Although our TiZip cargo zippers can handle the elements and salty sea water, the metal zippers on two of the rafts (Osprey and Chinook) can experience some corrosion  on the spray deck zippers, so be sure to rinse off after any salt water use.

We recommend thoroughly rinsing your raft with fresh water after any use in saltwater or chlorine, and allowing it to completely dry before storage.

Yes! Your packraft can handle the impact from dogs jumping in and out of the boat or on the seats so do bring your furry friend with you!B e careful with where you choose to paddle, in case they jump or fall out and consider getting a dog life jacket, just in case.

At the start, our dog was quite nervous getting into the boat but with a few short training sessions and a lot of her favourite treats, she got a little bit more comfortable but it's certainly an adventure!

We also bring a towel or blanket for her to sit on as she gets uneasy when her paws slide (this is the case in the bath, too!)

Yes, you can! Depending on the raft  version that you purchase, bikerafting is definitely an option. Rafting with bikes, known as “bikerafting”, is becoming more and more common across the world.

The large surface area and tie-down points on the front of our rafts provide a good platform for strapping your bike to the raft.We have designed a raft protector sheet, to help in securing your bike to you boat and protecting your boat from getting damaged by your bike

Our Osprey is our lightweight and compact, model with a wide nose, which provides a lot of stability on the water, when you have a lot of weight at the front. We recommend using additional tie downs for strapping down a bike or other heavy gear.
